Biography: Eric G. Flamholtz divides his time between teaching at a major business school and managing his consulting firm. One of the fundamental questions he has worked on in his research and consulting is: What does it take to continue and build successful organizations over the long term? This book provides powerful answers to that question. He has applied these ideas in working with many firms as they coped with the need to change. These include Starbucks Coffee Company, Cendant Mortgage, American Century Investors, Navistar International, Pacific Health Care Systems, and City National Bank. He is Professor of Management at the Anderson School of Business, University of California, Los Angeles, and President of Management Systems Consulting Corporation.
Yvonne Randle is Vice President of a management consulting firm?working with her co-author, Eric G. Flamholtz?and has had broad experience in helping organizations successfully make the transition from one stage of development to the next. She has a special expertise in strategic planning, corporate cultures, and issues relating to organization. Her consulting experience has included Baskin-Robbins, Bell-Carter Foods, Apria Healthcare, and Lifescan, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. In addition to serving as Vice President of Management Systems Consulting Corporation, she also lectures in the MBA program at the Anderson School of Business, University of California, Los Angeles.
