Biography: Michael Lissack is the Chairman of Magi Inc., a knowledge management software company, and of Coherence Ventures, an Internet incubator. He is a member of the board of directors and an active investor in InstantKnowledge.com, and of Webmind, Inc. He was an early stage investor in tripod.com, a college student site that was sold to Lycos in 1998. Dr. Lissack is also the Director of the Institute for the Study of Coherence and Emergence and an active member of IBM's Institute for Knowledge Management.
An investment banker at Smith Barney for nearly fifteen years, Dr. Lissack was named one of 'Wall Street's 25 Smartest Players' by
Worth Magazine in 1999. He is co-editor of
Managing Complexity in Organizations: A View in Many Directions, and of
Complexity and Management: Two Interacting Sciences and co-author of
Management Redefined and
Converging on Coherence.
Johan Roos is the founding director of Swiss-based Imagination Lab Foundation, and independent strategic management research organization initially sponsored by the LEGO Group. He is a board member of Comhem, the largest digital cable-TV and Internet cable service in Sweden; of Enlight-Interactive, a major e-learning corporation; of European Technology Ventures, and of the Next Generation Forum.
For the last five years Dr. Roos was Professor of Strategy and General Management at IMD in Switzerland. He is also the author and co-author of more than a dozen general management books, including
Striking a Balance: Complexity and Knowledge Landscapes and
Management Redefined.
